about
(written by Brian Shea)
Brian – vocals/guitar. Gary – guitar. Dan – keyboards.
A song of tender reflection, which is probably my fave Bordellos song (as well as many other peoples’). I remember recording the vocals as Gary and his young son Tom came crashing through the front door. The look I gave them must have been dagger-like as they stopped in their tracks and it cannot be heard on the recording. This song is made by Dan's excellent keyboards; we have tried this song many times and never recaptured the magic on this first version. There was magic in the room that night...Every smoking chimney my Statue of Liberty.

Sounds like Daniel Johnston off his nut on special brew with a portion of chips and gravy. Proper good stuff; angry and funny. Love the lo-fi (or no-fi) aesthetic and fuck off attitude. boycalledcrow

Such a Bordellos record is this. Typically eccentric and recorded and played to their own unique specifications. But, as usual, amongst it the melodies are pretty much all a joy to behold. In a couple of numbers I'm reminded of the quaint off-kilter songs Lou Reed used to write for Mo Tucker to sing in the Velvets. Gavin Hellyer
Recorded on an iPhone, the four tracks on the new EP from Kiara NGL burst with both big feelings and gentle melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 19, 2022
